Gravel ride from Chevin Cycles, Otley

It’s Gravel Time in Otley. Otley Cycle Club is pleased to be working with Chevin Cycles to put on its first, free to join, Gravel bike ride, open to both club members and non-members, on Saturday, 30th May.

The ride, over 27 miles, will be led by experienced cycle coaches at a moderate pace. Heading north of the river on a variety of tracks through Riffa Wood, eventually getting to Muddy Boots Café, returning through Harewood and Danefield. Although the route is designed for Gravel Bikes. Mountain Bikes are welcome too. The ride will be a steady, enjoyable pace with regular regrouping.

Interested club riders should book through the RidesApp, non-members may book through the Trybooking link below

Riders will meet at Chevin Cycles at 9.00 am, returning to Otley around 1.00 pm (ish).

Older children (aged 16 and over) are welcome on the ride if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Helmets are required on all club rides. Riders should ensure theirs is in good condition. You do not need specialist cycling clothing to join the fun but do make sure you are reasonably waterproof, carry sweets (for energy), money for coffee and cakes and a full water bottle.

If popular, the Club plans to put on more Gravel rides, perhaps every two weeks through the Summer, with Beginner’s Road Cycle rides (mentioned separately) in the intervening weeks.
