Beginners Social ride to Bolton Abbey (2)

The club is to work with Chevin Cycles to put on a series of fortnightly rides for beginners, both members and non-members. The second of these rides will be on Saturday, 6th June. Riders to meet 9.00 am at Chevin Cycles.

The plan is to rotate the ride leaders / back markers regularly and if we get enough volunteers to host rides twice a month.

So if anyone knows anyone, member or non-member, wanting to try out a social ride or who has lost fitness and wants to get back into cycling please let them know.

Thinking of joining the Ride?

The Club operates a ‘try before you buy’ policy for non-members, so they are able to try this, or one or two other club rides, without committing to join the Club. Older children are welcome on the ride if accompanied by a a parent or guardian, but as we will be riding on public roads, we would like to restrict attendance to only those aged 14 and over.

Anyone interested in the ride may join it for free by booking through Trybooking here.

Bikes and helmets

You do not need any particular type of bicycle for the ride. Any roadworthy mountain bike, folder, hybrid, road bike or E-bike will be suitable. If you have one, please try and bring a suitably sized inner tube with you. You never know.

Helmets are required on all club rides. Please make sure yours is in good condition. You do not need specialist cycling clothes to join a ride, but do make sure you are reasonably waterproof (and warm in winter), have sweets (for energy), money for coffee and cakes and a full water bottle.
