The Otley Cycle Club Committee has taken the decision to cancel the 2023 Club Dinner and Awards Evening at Otley Golf Club in 2024 due to the low number of people that have bought tickets.
The Committee would like to apologise for having to do this and think that it is a real opportunity missed to celebrate the successes of different sections of the Club and meet members, supporters and sponsors who you might not otherwise see. We already have award winners in many categories and sections of the club’s activities both in social cycling, racing (Road and TT), club organisation and personal cycling challenges across all ages of club members and have trophies engraved for those winners.
We will shortly be putting our thinking caps on as to how we can now present these awards in a timely way so that they still remain significant and relevant to 2023.
Thinking ahead to the end of 2024 we will also be considering what events we should hold so that the club can all meet altogether socially and also recognise personal contributions to the club, successes in cycling at all levels and support for cycling in the community.
Our Treasurer, Trevor Howe, will shortly arrange a full refund of any tickets purchased.
